OUR STORY

The honest version of this story is that I got tired of returning things I ordered online.

I had the worst experience with shoes. For a couple of years, I followed the same routine over and over. I would order two pairs, hoping that at least one of them would fit right, but most of the time I ended up sending everything back. The pictures online always looked perfect, but when the box arrived, I would find that the leather felt cheap and plastic-like, or the sole was glued on at an angle, or the size was all wrong - it seemed like every factory had a different idea of what a size 10 was supposed to be. I got so tired of returning shoes that I kept a stack of return labels on my hallway shelf, just so I could quickly send them back whenever I needed to. It was frustrating and annoying, and I felt like I was wasting my time and money on shoes that just didn't live up to my expectations.

It's frustrating when clothes and accessories don't last long. A shirt that loses its fit after just one wash, a jacket with a zipper that breaks easily, or a sweater that gets all fuzzy before the season is even over - it's like they're not made to last. And then there's sunglasses, which seem to be the worst offenders of all. I'm always losing or breaking a pair, and I don't want to spend a lot of money on new ones, but the cheap ones I buy just aren't any good. They start to rattle and fall apart after just a few weeks. It's hard to find something that's decent quality, but not too expensive, and doesn't have some huge logo plastered all over it. You'd think there would be some middle ground, but it seems like that's just not an option.

Oakmont Vale is what I'm trying to create as a middle ground solution.

WHAT WE OFFER

We launched our store with a simple idea: to keep things small and focused. We only sell a limited range of products, including clothing, shoes, sunglasses, and accessories, and we make sure they're all things that we'd personally want to keep for ourselves. For both men and women, we've got a curated selection of items that we think are really great. And here's the thing: if a product starts to get more than a couple of complaints, we take it off the site. It's that simple. We want to make sure that everything we sell is something that our customers will love, and if it's not meeting those standards, then it's gone.
